Kenneth Wayne Jones was born on November 15, 1948, in Denison, Iowa to Wayne and Regina (Brummer) Jones. He grew up outside of Dunlap, Iowa until they moved to the family farm outside of Magnolia, Iowa. He attended school in Magnolia and Logan, graduating in 1967. Kenny worked for a little while at Northwestern Bell until he went into carpentry. He started his own business, Jones Homes, in 1979. Kenny was united in marriage to Carla Gronso in Council Bluffs, Iowa on May 7, 1979. They have always lived in the Magnolia and Logan area. Kenny took great pride in his work and the many years he devoted to buildings and homes with his own hands.
Kenny was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church in Logan. He lived life to the fullest. Among his proudest accomplishments were his profound love for horses, an affinity for fast cars that thrilled his soul, riding bulls, flying planes and the courage to skydive and scuba dive—each a testament to his fearless nature. But above all, Kenny’s greatest source of pride was his family. They were the foundation of his life, the reason behind his many pursuits, and the heart that kept him grounded.
Kenny died on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at his home outside of Logan at the age of 77 years, four months and 24 days.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Kellen Morrison. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carla Jones of Logan; children, Tim Jones of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Stacey (Rommy) Rudolfi of Omaha, Nebraska, Julie Morrison of Logan, Nicholas Jones of Logan and Jeremy (Jaime) Jones of Blair, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jeremy Nelson, Alex Nelson, Maysen (Jim) Lake, Kolby Morrison, Bergan Jones, Kylie (Ethan) Heiss, Jamison Rudolfi, Gavin Jones and Landri Jones; great-grandchildren, McArthur, Ashford and Leona Lake; siblings, Ronald Jones of Arizona and Larry and Jean Ann Jones of Blair; and many other relatives and friends.
