Kenneth Ralph Pauley was born on January 20, 1941, in Portsmouth, Iowa to Leo and Louise (Schmitz) Pauley. He attended grade school and high school in Panama, Iowa. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years. On June 19, 1965, Kenny was united in marriage to Eileen Schleimer at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Panama. They were blessed with four sons, Darren, Kerry, Brad, and Jason. Kenny worked as a hired hand for Pete Croghan and then at Western Iowa Pork, Dubuque Packing, and Tyson Meats, retiring in 2008. He was a life-long member of the St. Mary Church.
Kenny enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and cherished the time he spent with family and friends. He especially enjoyed playing cards, with Pitch being a favorite, and could always be counted on to share a good joke and a laugh. Kenny had a passion for hunting, fishing, classic cars, and watching Westerns. He was a proud member of the Panama American Legion Post #601 and a member of the Panama Fire and Rescue Department for over 50 years. He treasured the friendships and connections he made though these organizations throughout his life.
Kenny died on August 22, 2026, at his home in Panama at the age of 85 years, seven months, and two days.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen; son, Darren; sisters, Lucille, Bernadine, Mitz, Thelma, and Janice; and brothers, Walter, Gerald, and Alfred. He is survived by his sons, Kerry Pauley (Audra Honeyman) of Panama, Brad (Zamira) Pauley of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jason Pauley of Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, MEMORIAL DONATIONS MAY BE MADE TO THE PANAMA AMERICAN LEGION OR THE PANAMA FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT.
