Kirt Carrier

     Kirt Allen Carrier was born on January 10, 1959, in Onawa, Iowa to Richard and Sharon (Jones) Carrier. He grew up in Little Sioux, Iowa and attended school at West Harrison in Mondamin, Iowa. Kirt went on to work as a flooring installer, mainly for basketball courts. He was truly an artist as he envisioned what he was going to create on the floor. He laid floors throughout the Midwest, including at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. Kirt later spent time working as a handyman.

     Kirt loved working with his hands. This was evident in the art he worked with and in the garden he grew. He was known to be quite strong-willed but loved his friends and family.

     Kirt died on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Dunlap Specialty Care Center in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 64 years, nine months and 10 days.

     Kirt was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Richard Carrier; mother, Sharon Carrier; and brother, Ken Carrier. He is survived by his sisters, Kayleen and her husband Danny Eaker of Minden, Iowa and Karla Tacner of Onawa, Iowa; half-brother, Travis Carrier of Harlan, Iowa; half-sister, Sonja Ulrich of Omaha, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A CELEBRATION OF KIRT'S LIFE WILL BE HELD AT A LATER TIME.
