Larry Gochenour

Larry Dean Gochenour was born on October 31, 1959, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Albert and LaMoine (Duggel) Gochenour. He grew up in Magnolia, Iowa and went to school at Logan-Magnolia. Larry farmed with his dad, raised hogs, and drove a charter bus. He then went to work in the cable industry where he worked for over 25 years. He retired from Cox Cable when he was 55. Larry drove school bus #4 in Magnolia for 10 years. Larry was united in marriage to Mary Ann Kolhof on March 17, 2000.

Larry had a feisty and sometimes stubborn spirit and brought laughter and joy to those around him. He had a knack for telling jokes and sharing stories. He loved being outdoors, especially boating on the river and camping at Willow Lake. Larry and Mary Ann raised goats, which added some unique stories to tell. Above all, Larry treasured his grandchildren. He enjoyed time spent with them and celebrating their achievements.

Larry died on Sunday, June 28, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home in Magnolia at the age of 66 years, seven months, and 28 days.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Kevin Gochenour and Charles Briney. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Ann Gochenour of Magnolia; children, Adam (Shelby) Gochenour of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jenna (Josh) Lease of Logan, Iowa and Tyler Jenkins of Woodbine, Iowa; grandchildren, Emily Gochenour, Luke Gochenour, Jasmine Lease (Jerry Tallman), Jaelyn Lease (Ford Wohlers), Jeweliana Lease, Tyson Jenkins, and Liam Jenkins; sister-in-law, Lori (Mike) Woody; and many other relatives and friends.
