Larry Harter VIDEO TRIBUTE

Larry Leroy Harter was born on April 22, 1936 in Onawa, Iowa to parents Clark and Margaret (Rasmussen) Harter. He attended school in Mondamin and Pisgah. In 1953 he enlisted in the US Navy. Larry was a stationary engineer in the Navy. Larry retired as a lieutenant from the Navy in 1974. He returned to Pisgah and drove a truck for Harold McCord. He then went to work as a stationary engineer at the Lutheran Hospital in Omaha. Larry helped Guy Harter with the farming for a number of years and later on helped Harold McCord farm.

Larry was a member of the Chrysolite Masonic Lodge 420 A.F.&A.M. since in 1996. He served one year in the Grand Lodge. He was also a member of the Logan VFW Post 6256 of Logan. He had a passion for restoring John Deere two cylinder tractors and had belonged to the Two Cylinder Club and the Elk Horn Valley Tractor Club.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dennis Harter. He is survived by his son Clark Harter and his wife Pam of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter Renee Harter of Houston, Texas; step granddaughter Gail Fanders of Council Bluffs, Iowa; special friend Elaine Brunow of Pisgah, Iowa; two sisters Darlene Hammack of Pisgah, Iowa and Susan Martin of Omaha, Nebraska and many other relatives and friends.
