Larry O'Connor

     Dr. Laurence Manion “Larry” O’Connor, 86, of Barling, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born on January 16, 1939, in Dunlap, Iowa to the late Laurence and Monica (Manion) O’Connor. Dr. O’Connor graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Dunlap, Iowa in 1956. In 1963 he graduated from Iowa State University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced veterinary medicine in Independence, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, and Honolulu, Hawaii. He later worked for the USDA in Joplin, Missouri. His interest in becoming a veterinarian was sparked by his mentor Dr. Bob Moore. He found joy in retirement reading detective novels and solving crossword puzzles with his friends Vikki and Barry. In addition, he enjoyed watching ice hockey and the Kansas City Chiefs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John O’Connor; three sisters, Patsy O’Connor Hanigan, Marilyn O’Connor Ganong, and Monnie Jo O’Connor Honaker.

     Larry is survived by his three daughters, Michelle, Rebecca, and Monica; brother, William E. O’Connor, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Suzanne O’Connor Rannells and her husband, Bob, of Nashville, Tennessee, Rosemary O’Connor, of Boston, Massachusetts; brother-in-law, Bob Ganong, of Boston, Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews.

     Larry was a friend to many and will be dearly missed. Love with fond Aloha, brother.
