Lawrence Louis Epperson was born on February 8, 1931, in Dunlap, Iowa to Orrie Donald and Mary Lorena (Petty) Epperson. He grew up in southwest Iowa and attended school in Magnolia, Iowa. Larry served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954, where he embodied the values of commitment and sacrifice. His military service was a significant chapter in his life, one that shaped him into the honorable man many came to know and respect. He was united in marriage to Velma Arbaugh on July 18, 1954, and they were blessed with three boys, Ron, Bob and Scott. Larry worked for over 24 years at Whittaker Ford in Council Bluffs, Iowa and then sold John Deere equipment at the Morrissey and Macedonia Implement’s until his retirement in his 80’s.

Larry put his heart into the simple yet profound joys of life. He found solace and satisfaction in taking care of his yard. However, it was time spent with family that truly brought him the greatest joy. Larry Epperson leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, a testament to a life well-lived.

Larry died on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Azria Health Rose Vista in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 94 years, eight months and five days.
