Linda Jean Andersen was born on July 15, 1947, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to parents Harold and Iona (Ganzhorn) Haight. Linda grew up in Woodbine and attended Woodbine High School. Linda was married to Ben Andersen at the Presbyterian Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa on July 20, 1964. The couple lived in Council Bluffs and Omaha until they moved to the farm northwest of Woodbine in 1975. Linda earned her certification as an x-ray tech and later as a CMA, which she used while she worked for Dr. Barnes. She then worked at the CHI Medical Clinic in Logan for a number of years until her retirement in 2014. She was known for her gentleness in drawing blood and giving shots.

Linda had a special way with animals of all kinds, drawing them to her with ease. Her talent as an artist shone beautifully. Whether she was fishing at the pond or tending to the birds she loved - hummingbirds, cardinals, and orioles - Linda's love for the world around her was evident in everything she did. Those who knew Linda will remember her not only for her artistic gifts but also for her unwavering dedication to her family. Her willingness to help out on the farm knew no bounds - whether it was running to get parts or lending a helping hand whenever needed.  Linda enjoyed the family gatherings at the farm pond, she always came prepared for anything that would come up.

Linda died on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison at the age of 76 years, seven months and 21 days.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jacob Klein. She is survived by husband Ben Andersen of Dunlap, Iowa; four children, Jim (Lois) Andersen of Woodbine, Cathy (Mark) Klein of Dunlap, Iowa, Travis (Maureen) Andersen of Kearney, Missouri and Shane (Jill) Andersen of Woodbine; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen (John) O’Banion of Woodbine, Iowa, Nan Colwell (Matt Bierwirth) of Missouri Valley; brother, Hal (Jill) Haight of Ankeny, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
