Linda Jean Henry, 75, of Logan, Iowa, passed away on March 1, 2026.
Linda was born in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Don and Letty (Klenk) Jack, and lived a life defined by generosity, steadiness and faith. She was known for her quiet endurance and her instinct to care for others — qualities that shaped her family and community.
On January 18, 1974, Linda married John William Henry. He had proposed on Columbus Day in 1973. When he first asked, Linda replied, “Huh?” — and he had to gather himself and ask again. She said “yes”, and their 52 years together were marked by devotion and partnership.
Linda worked for the U.S. Post Office in Magnolia, Iowa and helped manage the books for Henry Supply. Her family holds fond memories of her fresh bread, sun tea, shared coffee and tending spring ditch fires (occasionally with more enthusiasm than intended — the fire departments were only called a handful of times). In 2022, she had a treasured trip to Ireland. Above all, Linda loved her family. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life: Ryanna, Adalynn and Danica (Patrick and Mary), and Olivia and Hunter (Mike and Laura).
Linda's faith guided her daily life and sustained her through a five-year battle with pancreatic cancer, which she faced with quiet resolve.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Sarah Jean Henry. She is survived by her husband, John Henry; sons, Jack Henry, Pat Henry and his wife Mary and Mike Henry and his wife Laura; five grandchildren; and sister, Jane and her husband Jim Goodlaxson.
Linda’s life was steady and faithful. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her love.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Deconstruct Cancer Fund at UNMC:
