Lois Juanita (Smith) Snyder was born April 9, 1921, to William and Laura (Tupper) Smith near Woodbine, Iowa. She attended various country schools and graduated from Magnolia High School. After her graduation Lois worked for area families until her marriage. Lois married Clyde Snyder on January 3, 1941. The ceremony took place in the Methodist parsonage with the Rev. Wood officiating. The couple lived in the Woodbine area and farmed at various sites until they moved to town in August on 1986. Lois worked at Holben Nursing Home in Logan for five years. Clyde died on February 26, 2003.

Lois was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She was active in the church circles and helped serve many funeral lunches. She was also a member of the Eastside Social Club and helped at the Golden Age Center. Clyde and Lois spent 18 winters in Texas.

Lois died on Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine at the age of 94 years, 10 months, and 10 days.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Snyder; daughter, Conda Roth; son-in-law, Rodney Jensen; step grandson, Michael Dunlop; three brothers, Dale, Kenneth and Clifford Smith; two sisters, Darlene Hood and Myrna Shaffer; and two brothers-in-law, James Davis and Fred Hood. She is survived by two children, William "Bill" Snyder and his wife Dorothy and Carolyn Jensen all of Woodbine, Iowa; son-in-law, Cletus Roth of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; Kevin Jensen and his wife Michelle, John Jensen and his wife Renee, Denise and her husband Kevin Kuhlman, Dena Jensen, Dennis "Newt" Snyder, Brenda and her husband Jesse Ponder and Amy and her husband Peter Olson three step grand-children, Clinton Dunlop, Jennifer Dunlop, and Regina and her husband Matt Williams; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Carla Davis of Woodbine, Iowa; sister-in-law, Eunice Smith of Walnut, Iowa; brother-in-law, Lawrence Shaffer of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
