Loren Conley Mann was born December 7, 1925, to Charles Dean and Anna (Perrin) Mann in Moorhead, Iowa. He was raised near Pisgah and attended Pisgah High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during WWII. After his honorable discharge he returned to Pisgah. Loren married Doris Outhouse on December 22, 1951, at the RLDS Church in Moorhead, Iowa. They farmed for three years in Soldier and then moved to their farm in Woodbine. Loren worked as a carpenter with his father and brother, Ronnie. He drove truck and tended bee hives for Ralph Hammack, drove a school bus route for many years, sold Moorman's feed, plus worked for Harrison County, in later years, doing lawn and home maintenance for the elderly still living in their homes.

Loren was a member of the Community of Christ and served in the office of Teacher. He had a lifetime commitment of studying the scriptures. He enjoyed nature, supporting the Arbor Day Foundation and caring for the birds and squirrels in his neighborhood. He loved his farm and the timber he maintained on his 80 acres. Loren enjoyed reading and writing poetry. He was always a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Loren died February 6, 2015, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home at the age of 89 years, one month and 30 days.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nola Chapman, brother, Jerald Mann; brothers-in-law, Leo Chapman, Lee Hardt and Bernard Plath; granddaughter, Danielle Faith Mann; and great grandson, Mason John Moores. He is survived by his wife, Doris Mann of Woodbine, Iowa; seven children, Wesley (Linda) Mann of Quitman, Texas, Linda (Wayne) Ostermeyer of Shelton, Nebraska, Rhonda (Patrick) Boyd of Wilsonville, Oregon, David (Maureen) Mann of Underwood, Iowa, Cheryl (David) Moores of Woodbine, Iowa, Darla (Scott) Gelande of LeClaire, Iowa, Daniel (Andria) Mann of Council Bluffs, Iowa, 23 grandchildren; 19+ great grandchildren; five siblings, Norma Hardt of Woodbine, Iowa, Duane (Jan) Mann of Woodbine, Iowa, Viola Plath of Woodbine, Iowa, Ronnie (Dianne) Mann of Woodbine, Iowa, Shirley (Terry) Weldon of Soldier, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
