Marion Ilona Stout was born on July 14, 1943, in Burlington, Iowa, to John Marion and Glen Ola (Gorsche) Boyd. She attended school at West Central High School, in Biggsville, Illinois. After school she was a dental hygienist and then went back to school to become an activity coordinator. Marion married Orville LeRoy Stout in Lahorpe, Illinois, and they moved to Red Oak, Iowa. Later they settled in Malvern and Randolph, Iowa. Marion was the activity director and then the assistant administrator at the Malvern Nursing Home. She also worked at the State Hospital in Glenwood. Marion and Orville were blessed with a daughter, Mary Dollie Ann Stout.
Marion was a member of the Baptist Church in Malvern and later a member of the Missouri Valley Christian Church. She enjoyed crafts and even arranged flowers for a few weddings. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Camp Director, for the Nishna Botna Council.
Marion died on July 29, 2020, at Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa, at the age of 77 years and 15 days.
Marion was preceded in death by her father; and her husband, Orville, on May 4, 1999. She is survived by her mother, Glen Ola Lee of Muscatine, Iowa; daughter Dollie and her husband Brad Bothwell of Moorhead, Iowa; granddaughter, Amelia Jo Bothwell of Moorhead; brother, Roger Ray and his wife Ann of Early, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
Marion's wishes were to be cremated and there will be no services.
