Mima Marjorie (Maxwell) Hood was born on May 12, 1916, to Elmer and Grace (Young) Maxwell in Woodbine, Iowa. Marjorie lived her entire life in Woodbine. She graduated from Woodbine High School in 1934 and married George Wendell Hood on April 14, 1940. Marjorie worked as a bookkeeper at the Siebels Department Store and later as the principal's secretary at Woodbine High School.

Marjorie and George were dedicated members of the First Christian Church in Woodbine for their entire lives. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, reading, and also spending time with her many close friends. Most of all, she treasured her time with her family.

Marjorie died on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Rose Vista Nursing Home at the age of 99 years, four months, and 18 days.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband George Hood; infant daughter, Sandra Kay; sisters, Mabel Poe and Mildred Evans; and many dear relatives and friends. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Sue) Hood of Omaha, Nebraska, Georgene (Steve) Raver of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jacqueline (William) Bruner of Prairie Home, Missouri; seven grandchildren David (Heather) Raver, Lori (Darin) Leach, Lisa (Ray) Koza, Rob (Dana) Bruner, Rachelle Hood, Jim (Sara) Hood and Sandy (Steve) Ganey; 10 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kathryn, Danielle, and Claire Raver, Morgan and Kayla Leach, Andrew and Josie Hood, Isabella and Anna Reilly; and two step great grandsons, Karsten and Kyler White. Marjorie's love and faith were paramount in her every interaction; her legacy of selfless giving and kindness will live on in the hearts of the many that she touched.
