Marlene Kaye (Dunlop) Park was born November 14, 1936, to George and Emma (Savery) Dunlop in Moorhead, Iowa. She was raised near Moorhead and also Fort Calhoun, Nebraska. While in high school Marlene enjoyed volleyball, cheerleading, the drama club, and 4-H. Marlene graduated in 1955 from the high school in Fort Calhoun. She then worked at Mutual of Omaha. She met Arnold Park at an Arthur Murray Dance Studio. The two married on July 7, 1962, at the United Methodist Church in Woodbine. The couple farmed east of Woodbine and raised many hogs and cattle over the years. Marlene loved to feed the bottle calves. The couple retired and moved into Woodbine in 2011. Arnold died December 3, 2012.

Marlene was a member of the Woodbine United Methodist Church and UMW. She was also a member of the Red Hats Club and the church's evening circle. Marlene helped with the church's thrift shop for over 40 years. She enjoyed making crafts and being in craft shows for over 20 years and she also enjoyed finding treasures at garage sales. The couple enjoyed playing cards with the neighborhood card club.

Marlene died on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 11 months and eight days.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold Park; sister, Doris (Ralph) Pietzyk; and brother, Donald Dunlop. She is survived by her four children, Allen Park and his wife Sherry of Woodbine, Iowa, Gary Park and his wife Michelle of Ewing, Nebraska, Randy Park and his wife Jackie of Dow City, Iowa, Tammy and her husband Todd Rivera of Shelby, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; three plus great grandchildren; brother, George Dunlop and his wife Barbara of Blair, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
