Patricia Hein

       Patricia Ann (Loy) Hein was born on February 11, 1950, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to John Pat and Kathryn Clara (Smith) Loy. She grew up in Dunlap, Iowa where she attended school and graduated in 1968. Pat went on to further her education in property management at Briar Cliff College. Her love for travel took her to many places she called home including Kansas City, Missouri, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Louisville, Kentucky, the Florida Keys and Naples, Florida area. Pat was married to Jerry Gibbs. Pat was a property manager for many different properties, including condominiums on Vanderbilt Beach in Naples until her retirement in 2012. Jerry died in 2013. On August 23, 2014, Pat was united in marriage to John Hein. They resided in Dunlap for a while and then in 2021 moved to Englewood, Florida. Pat loved their home in Englewood. Pat was a devoted member of the St. John Lutheran Church.

     Throughout her life, Pat found joy in simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with others. Her strong faith was a guiding light, providing comfort and strength in both good times and bad. She had a remarkable talent for entertaining and cooking, turning every gathering into a warm and welcoming event filled with laughter and delicious food. Pat loved living in Florida and especially loved the water. Her love for travel also took her far and wide, allowing her to explore and create treasured memories. 

      Pat died on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at her home in Florida after a short illness, at the age of 74 years, one month and 27 days.

      Pat was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Jerry Gibbs. She is survived by her husband, John Hein; brothers, David Loy of Dunlap and Michael Loy and his fiancé Shelly Watson of Missouri Valley, Iowa; niece, Brittany and her husband, Alex Vondrak of Hinton, Iowa; great-niece, Harper Rose Vondrak; and many other relatives and friends.
