Paula Christensen

     Paula Diana Christensen was born on December 19, 1946, in Woodbine, Iowa to Floyd and Consuelo (Gerratt) Mahan. She graduated from Woodbine High School in 1964. Paula was united in marriage to Jerald Mann in 1964 and since he was in the Air Force the couple lived in a variety of places including Wichita, Texas, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Council Bluffs, Iowa and eventually return to Woodbine to work on the family farm. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Bracinda and Kimberly. After her divorce from Jerry, Paula returned to Council Bluffs, Iowa to work as a florist for Christensen Florist and then managed a HyVee floral shop. She married her soulmate, Dan Christensen, on March 8, 1997. They added to their family, adopting daughter Ayrissa and bringing her home from the hospital at just 2 days old. Dan died on April 19, 2015, and Paula soon moved back to Woodbine. 

     Paula was a member of the Church of Christ in Council Bluffs. She was the 3rd generational owner of the Mahan Family Farm. Paula loved the color purple, flowers, making wreaths, sewing and crocheting. She especially enjoyed time spent with cherished family and friends. 

     Paula died on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Azria Health Rose Vista in Woodbine at the age of 79 years, two months and two days. 

     Paula was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dan. She is survived by her children, Bracinda and her husband Dean Blum of Woodbine, Kimberly and her husband Artz Jacob of Woodbine and Ayrissa Christensen of Logan; seven grandchildren, Shadon (Rebecca) Blum, Rusty Blum, Travis Blum, Scotty (Katie) Blum, Tiffannie Blum, Roger Jacob and Katie Anderson; 14 great-grandchildren; step-sister, Dina Corbett of Woodbine; and many other relatives and friends.
