Phillip Wayne Whitmore was born April 2, 1969, to Bill and Anita (Jensen) Whitmore in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He was raised in Woodbine and attended school in Woodbine graduating with the class of 1987. After graduation he worked for Jensen Construction and Duval Construction in Logan. Phillip proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. After his medical discharge he worked at Omaha Steel and then Hardwood Builders in Woodbine. On October 14, 2006, Phillip married Sue Ellen Duval at the United Methodist Church in Woodbine. The couple moved to Council Bluffs in 2008. They also lived in Omaha and Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin until three months ago when they moved to York, Nebraska.

Phillip enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, playing Battle Pirates on the Internet and playing cards – particularly Pitch. He was also a rodeo clown for a number of years.

Phillip died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at his home in York, Nebraska at the age of 45 years, 11 months, and eight days.

Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents and father, Bill Whitmore. He is survived by his wife, Sue Duval of York, Nebraska; daughter, Cheyanne Franks of Minnesota; step-son, Ethan (Madison) Clark of York, Nebraska; mother, Anita Whitmore of Woodbine, Iowa; sister, Billie Jo (Jon) Schulz of Goehner, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
