Phyllis Hawn

Phyllis (Hartwig) Hawn was born in Dunlap, Iowa, the youngest of six children to Louie and Verna Hartwig on August 17, 1934. Her father passed away when Phyllis was only two years old. She grew up in a small farming community and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1952. One year later, she wed the love of her life, Vernon Hawn. She was a wonderful wife of 62 years and mother to one daughter and three sons.

Phyllis enjoyed spending time with family, friends and loved dancing, and camping. She was a member of the Altar Society, Kings Kounty Kampers, and Young at Hearts Dance Club.

Phyllis passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on March 13, 2015 in Hanford, California at the age of 80 years, six months, and 24 days.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her husband Vernon Hawn of Hanford, California; four children, Debra Hawn of Hanford, California, Brad Hawn and his wife Terri of Chino Hills, California, Jim Hawn and his wife Sandra of Menasha, Wisconsin, and Chris Hawn of Mamore, California; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She will truly be missed by her family and so many friends.
