Quentin Heistand

Quentin David Heistand was born February 11, 1975, to David and Beth (Bremser) Heistand in Denison, Iowa. He was raised near Dow City and Dunlap and graduated from Boyer Valley High School in 1993. He enjoyed Little League Baseball and High School Golf. Quentin attended Iowa State University in Ames and Western Iowa Technical in Sioux City. He studied turf management. Quentin worked for his step-father, Empire Land & Cattle, and then Keller Farms in Collinsville, Illinois. He returned to Dunlap and worked for CPS. He was currently working for Kelly Garrett and farming his own land.

Quentin loved to golf and in the most recent years he would travel to Florida each year to golf with his aunts and uncles. He also enjoyed playing cards, socializing with friends, coyote hunting, collecting Budweiser Beer steins, and watching the Pittsburg Steelers. Most of all he loved farming.

Quentin died unexpectedly on Friday, July 28, 2017, at his home near Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 42 years, five months, and 17 days.

Quentin was preceded in death by his father, David Heistand; grandparents, and two uncles, Terry Heistand and Byron Bremser. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Beth and Rollie Roberts of Dunlap, Iowa; two siblings, Angie and husband Harl Bahntge of York, Nebraska, Tyson Heistand of Dunlap, Iowa; three step-siblings, Tim Roberts of Whiting, Iowa, Tom Roberts and wife Michelle of Sioux City, Iowa, Tammy and husband Ron Taylor of Onawa, Iowa; two nieces, Tiffany and Hailey; step-nieces, Scarlett, Carlie, Cayden, Bella and Martha; and many other relatives and friends.
