Rachel Mohn

Rachel Alice (Stolley) Mohn was born on August 8, 1917, to Harry Hans and Alice Jane (Cox) Stolley in Allen Township, near Pisgah, Iowa. Rachel went to country school in Allen Township and high school in Pisgah. Rachel married Walter Mohn in 1941. To this union two sons were born, Solomon and Charles. When Walter returned from WWII, the couple farmed east of Pisgah where they raised their children. In 1967 they sold the farm and moved to Woodbine. After Walter passed away Rachel would ride the bus to the casinos in Sloan and Council Bluffs until her health failed.

Rachel died on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine at the age of 97, years, eight months, and 19 days.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Mohn; son, Charles and his wife Cindy Mohn; twin brother, Richard and his wife Louise Stoley; sister, Jane and her husband Floyd Mohn. She is survived by her son, Solomon Mohn and his wife Connie of Woodbine, Iowa; brother-in-law, Alfred Mohn of Billings, Montana; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
