Richard Bowen

Richard Edward Bowen was born on September 10, 1967, to Gary Richard and Carolyn Anne (Allerton) Bowen in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in Carter Lake, Iowa and attended school in Carson-Macedonia graduating in 1986. Rick then attended classes at UNO for one year before he joined the U.S. Air Force. He served as a security specialist at the Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. After his discharge he returned to the Omaha area. Rick married Angela Cemer in Valley, Nebraska. In 2014, he moved to Woodbine.

Rick loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also loved the St. Louis Cardinals, watching football and baseball and also reading. He enjoyed his cats and also participating in Veteran events.

Rick died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at his home in Woodbine at the age of 49 years, seven months, and 23 days.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Smith and brother, Rich Livengood. He is survived by his daughter, Kacie (Ryan) Schleis of Audubon, Iowa and their two children, Bowen and Laila; father and step-mother, Gary and Donna Bowen of Carson, Iowa; grandmother, Helen Bowen of Blair, Nebraska; two siblings, Matthew Bowen and his fiancé Jennifer of Carson, Iowa, Anne (Gary) Meek of Bristol, Connecticut; step siblings, Annette (Ross) Frain of Carson, Iowa; sister-in-law, Heather Livengood of Treynor, Iowa; Angela Bowen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
