Robert Cohrs

Robert Charles Cohrs was born July 26, 1934, to Herman and Hilda (Ehert) Cohrs at his family’s farm near Magnolia, Iowa. He attended country school and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1952. He met the love of his life, Judith Niles at a dance at the Magnolia Park and they were married on September 19, 1959. To this union, they had 3 sons, Danny, Todd, and Scott.

Bob proudly served his country in the Army Reserves Medical unit for eight years, Specialist 3rd Class. Afterwards, he returned to the farm, working with his dad and later starting a Holstien dairy herd, which was 100 strong at its peak. Later, Bob worked for Schemmer Rock Quarry in Logan and the Harrison County Road Department.

Bob was a devoted member of the Zion Lutheran Church and later the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed square dancing, card club, and riding horses as he was a founding member of the Pisgah Saddle Club. But his greatest joy was his wife and family. He loved going to any sporting event or music concert at school. His life changed dramatically when he lost Judy in 2014 after being married for 54 years. They were seldom not together.

Bob died on April 8, 2026, at Rose Vista Care Center at the age of 91 years, nine months, and 18 days.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; brother-in-law; Larry Manes; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Max and Phyllis Kucks; and nephew, Chuck Manes. He is survived by his three boys, Danny (Chris) Cohrs, Todd (Lori) Cohrs and Scott Cohrs all of Logan; six grandchildren; six+ great grandchildren; sister, Doris Manes of El Cajon, California; and many cousins, nephews and friends.
