Robert Taylor

Robert Edward Taylor was born September 30, 1940, to Frank and Mary (Sheeder) Taylor in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was raised in the Guthrie Center area, attended country school Baker #2 and graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1958. Bob married Patricia Corwin on December 15, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduation Bob worked for Vickers Hydraulics in Omaha, was a finish carpenter for Hawkeye Home of Des Moines, worked at Control Data in Omaha and worked for Sunstrand in Denver, Colorado. He retired from Sunstrand in 1999. The couple then moved to Springfield, Missouri.

Bob loved to hunt, fish and visit with people. He was the Guthrie Center Historian. Bob loved planning the trips that he and Pat would take. He also enjoyed playing cards and board games.

Bob died on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at his home in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 76 years, three months, and 23 days.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kendall Lee Taylor; five siblings, Richard, Claude, Estel and Joe Taylor and Ardith Stanley; father-in-law, Donald Corwin; and brother-in-law, Jim Slagle. He is survived by his wife Pat Taylor of Springfield, Missouri; three sons, Kevin Robert (Melody) Taylor of Des Moines, Iowa, Nathan (Cori) Taylor of Bay City, Michigan, Kevin (Tracie) Taylor of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Nathan Anthony, Rozlyn and Tristyn Taylor; mother-in-law, Bertha Corwin of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
