Rosalie Amaryllis (Birks) Probasco was born July 1, 1928, to R. Clay and Garphelia (Knauss) Birks near Beebeetown, Iowa. She was raised in the Logan area, attended Jeddo Country School, and graduated from Logan High School in 1945. Rosalie then went on to teach country school. They cleaned the United Methodist Church for 22 years. Rosalie also worked as a substitute teacher, in the kitchen at Rose Vista Nursing Home and at the Tea Room in Woodbine.
