Rose Skarin

Rose Esther Skarin, 92, of Woodbine died on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine. Rose was born on August 8, 1920, in the Coon Grove, Crawford County, Iowa area to parents Ernst and Sarah (Trexel) Reuwsaat. Rose graduated from Denison High School in 1937. She taught country school before getting married. On August 25, 1943, Rose married Vernon Skarin in Denison, Iowa. The couple started farming near Ida Grove, Iowa and then in 1947 moved to a farm east of Woodbine. The couple continued to farm in the Woodbine area.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon on November 29, 2012; two sisters, Emily Reuwsaat and Laura Mottinger; and one brother, Robert Reuwsaat. Rose is survived by her one daughter, Patricia "Pat" Skarin of Woodbine, Iowa; five sons, Richard Skarin of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dennis and Carol Skarin of Casper, Wyoming, John and Kathy Skarin of Laramie, Wyoming, Donald and Christine Skarin of Des Moines, Iowa and Roy and Cindy Skarin of Indianola, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Bruda of Lincoln, Nebraska and Caroline and her husband Lynn Dent of Irwin, Iowa; one brother, Ben Reuwsaat and his wife Joyce of Palo Alto, California and other relatives and friends.
