Scott Edward Kielian was born on September 1, 1965, in Omaha, Nebraska to John Joseph (Jack) Kielian and Francine Evalyn White. He grew up in the Dunlap area and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1983. Scott began working in a packing plant right after high school. He married Deanna Mefferd on August 16th, 1986. They had two children, Katie Jo and John Joseph. Scott joined the Army in 1988, serving as a black hawk crew chief and mechanic. He went on to work as a union iron worker for Local 21, and then a truck driver, eventually becoming an owner/operator of his own trucking company, Kielian & Co. Scott married Dee Dee Meadows on February 14, 2020. They enjoyed their time together doing anything outdoors.
Scott and Dee Dee loved to spend time fishing, boating, or camping. The two could often be found on motorcycle rides around southwest Iowa and Missouri. Scott also enjoyed going hunting - especially mushroom hunting in the springtime.
Scott died on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at the age of 60 years.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Jack, and his wife, Dee Dee. He is survived by his children, Katie Mattson and her husband Adam and John Kielian and his fiancé Lindsey; ten grandchildren, Nova, Karson, Nash, Jack, Nolam, Makaiyah, Ericka, Sophie, Oakley, and Everhett; mother, Francine Christiansen; sister, Deb and her husband Jason Barry; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life to honor Scott’s memory will be held at a later date
