Sharon Klein

Sharon Rae Adamson Klein was born February 11, 1940, to Karl and Irene (Austin) Adamson near Woodbine, Iowa. Sharon grew up near Woodbine and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1957. She then went to work at Mutual of Omaha. On October 25, 1958, Sharon married Duane "Dewey" Klein at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Woodbine. The couple lived and farmed together south of Dunlap for 27 years. Later they moved west of Dunlap and continued to farm and raise their four children.

Sharon was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters. She was also the coordinator and a teacher for the religious education program for many years. Sharon was a founding member of the Chattering Dozen Club. She enjoyed working in her beautiful flower garden and was an amazing cook. She always had an open place at the table for friends and family. She loved going to the casino and her annual trip to Las Vegas, and she took great pleasure in knitting wash cloths for everyone.

Sharon died on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at the Dunlap Specialty Care Center in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 76 years, six months, and 24 days.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Karen Adamson and Kathryn Heistand Walpus; brother, Eldred Adamson, and great granddaughter, Macy. She is survived by her husband, Dewey Klein of Dunlap, Iowa; four children, Kevin Klein of Harlan, Iowa, Kay and her husband Terry Donscheski of Dunlap, Iowa, Marla and her husband Ed Heffernan of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Melissa and her husband Scott Anderson of Dunlap, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Colton and Ethan Klein, Jesse (Ariel), Justin, Cory (Ashley) Donscheski, Tonya Roberts, Erin & Joseph Heffernan, Emily, Alex, Lindsey Anderson; seven great grandchildren, Zoe, Zayden, Kambria, Braxton, Jaxon, Brooke and Abel; and many other relatives and friends.
