Stella Marie (Ganzhorn) O'Banion was born on November 26, 1910 to parents Arthur H. and Edna Laura (Klutts) Ganzhorn near Woodbine, Iowa. She attended country school and graduated from Woodbine Normal School in 1929. She married Ralph O'Banion on August 24, 1929 in Sac City, Iowa. The couple farmed north of Woodbine all of their married life. Ralph died on October 5, 1985.

Stella was a member of the First Christian Church in Woodbine, Iowa where she had been active with the ladies circle. Stella had an infectious giggle that she will be remembered by.

Stella died on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine at the age of 95 years, seven months and 29 days.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph and two brothers, Harold and Paul Ganzhorn. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Ganzhorn of Woodbine, Iowa, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
