Terry Russell Brasel, 61, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Dow City died on Saturday, March 2nd at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center. Terry was born on June 22, 1951, in Denison, Iowa to parents Robert and Nellie (Baber) Brasel. Terry was raised in the Dow City area and graduated from Dow City High School in 1969. He worked at IBP in Denison for a while and then moved to Arlington, Texas and began a 30 year career with Schwans. He had a home delivery route with Schwans and had received many awards for his salesmenship. He retired from Schwans in the fall of 2012 due to his failing health.
Terry was an avid sports fan. He especially liked to root for the New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and the Chicago Bears.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two brothers, Mark Brasel and his wife Donna and Dan Brasel and his wife Connie all of Dunlap, Iowa; four sisters, Mary and her husband Matt Baue of LeMars, Iowa, Sheryl Summerfield of Wayne, Nebraska, Connie and her husband Doyle Larson of Denison, Iowa and Patti Brasel of Aurora, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.
Terry's wishes were to be cremated and there will be a private family graveside at the Dow City Cemetery at a later date.
