Thomas Donelson

     Thomas Morgan Donelson was born on March 6, 1950, in Fairfax, Missouri to Billy Joe and Rosalie (Frisbie) Donelson. He grew up in Missouri. Tom worked as a truck driver and truck mechanic, roles that showcased his deep understanding of the vehicles that kept the country moving. Later, he applied his hands-on skills as a welder, proving himself to be a craftsman in metal as well. Tom was blessed with six children, Tim, Laura, Clayton “Todd”, Eldon, Troy, and Megan.

     Outside of his working years, Tom was a man of varied interests and hobbies. He loved racing stock cars, a thrilling pursuit that spoke to his adventurous spirit and appreciation for speed and competition. Fishing was another favorite pastime. Whether he was tinkering with projects, building things from scratch, delving into woodworking, or crafting models, Tom was always busy with something.

     Tom died at his home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the age of 76 years, one month, and two days.

     Tom was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eldon; sister, Ellen “Blanch” and her husband Buel Needs; and brother-in-law, Bob Merritt. He is survived by his children, Tim Donelson (Jodi Kent) of Ludlow, Missouri, Laura (Dale) Nelsen of Woodbine, Clayton “Todd” (Kayzee) Donelson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Troy Donelson (Ashley Jones) of Woodbine, and Megan (Korey) Bothwell of Woodbine; 14 grandchildren plus one on the way; one great grandchild; sisters, Jody (Bill) Danley and Codi Merritt; and many other relatives and friends.
