Timothy John Collison was born on April 6,1969, to Douglas and Loretta (Olson) Collison in rural Little Sioux, Iowa. Tim graduated in 1987 from West Harrison Community School in Mondamin, Iowa. He then attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa where he received his associate degree in Diesel Mechanics. Tim married Kimberly Powles on September 14,1991. The couple were blessed with four children, Nicole, Jessica, Wendy and Trevor.
Through the years Tim worked for John Deere, Warner Trucking, Nebraska Machinery, Little Sioux Water Department and for the last 20 years was employed by the Harrison County Road Department. He proudly held the title of Fire Chief and EMT on Little Sioux Volunteer Department. He was also a certified trainer and taught several fire and EMT classes. Tim was passionate about his work, always wanting to serve others wherever he was. Beyond his professional achievements, Tim found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Tim was a loving, caring and giving person with a generous spirit. He continued that in death through the gift of organ donation.
Tim died on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at CHI Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 56 years, 3 months, and 21 days.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Michael and Donald Collison. Tim is survived by his wife, Kim Collison of Little Sioux; children, Nicole (Korey) Martz, Jessica (Jimmy) McCombs, Wendy Collison (Chase Witzke) and Trevor Collison (Dana Carritt); 15 grandchildren, Taven, Alyssa, Mariah, Adrianna, Skylar, Braxton, Elisia, Brodie, Timothy, McKinley, Aurora, Owen, Kairi, Ryker and Kaladin; siblings, William (Leslie) Collison, Susan Collison, Bradley (Sona) Collison, Dennis (Jennifer) Collison, Patricia Collison, Cynthia Scheid and Christopher (Karla) Collison; and many other relatives and friends.
