Violet Bothwell

Violet Jean (Christensen) Bothwell, 79, of Pisgah died on Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.
Violet was born April 29, 1927, to Marion and Velma (Coates) Christensen in Moorhead, Iowa. She attended country school between Moorhead and Pisgah and graduated from Pisgah High School. While in school Violet worked at the Miller Store in Pisgah. She attended a business school in Omaha following graduation. Violet married Thomas Eugene Bothwell on November 15, 1946. The couple farmed near Moorhead and then moved to a farm near Pisgah. Violet was a supervisor at Westmont Nursing Home in Logan for 17 years. Her husband Gene died on January 9, 2002.
Violet enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cooking, gardening and shopping.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Maynard Christensen. She is survived by her three children, Tom Bothwell and his wife Peggy of Moorhead, Iowa, Darla Ronk of Omaha, Nebraska, and Vicki and her husband Lonnie McHugh of Pisgah, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; her brother, Vernon Christensen and his wife Phyllis of Moorhead, Iowa; special friend Opal Pape of Moorhead, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.
