Wayne Robertson

Wayne Edwin Robertson was born on February 17, 1947, to Edwin John and Marian Pearl (Clark) Robertson in Dunlap, Iowa. Wayne was raised on the farm and attended country school for a few years. He then attended Dunlap Community School and graduated in 1965. While in high school, he thoroughly enjoyed sports and was the student manager for the football team. During school, Wayne worked many odd jobs, including Hellers Gas Station and the Denison Car Wash. He furthered his education and graduated from Dana College with a degree in social services. After college, he worked with the Department of Human Services in Council Bluffs and Denison until his retirement.
Wayne resided in Dunlap until his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church, and enjoyed driving around the countryside and in Dunlap, trying out various restaurants, and visiting DeSoto Bend to watch the birds and wildlife. He loved watching football and old westerns on TV, enjoyed his coffee group, and visiting with people.
Wayne died on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the Crawford County Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of 66 years, six months, and 10 days.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister Marilyn and Mark Ryan of Red Wing, MN; nephew, Graham and Mariesa Ryan of Minneapolis, MN; niece, Kim Ryan and Wali Bullard of Minneapolis, MN; great-niece, Iah Bullard of Minneapolis, MN, a few aunts and uncles, many cousins and many other relatives and friends.
