Whitney Yvonne Ronk was born on November 8, 1996, to Alan and Terri (Harper) Ronk in Omaha, Nebraska. She lived in Woodbine her entire life attending and graduating from Woodbine High School in 2015. While in high school, Whitney was involved in band, cheerleading and the dance team. She was also a T.A for Mrs. Cox. She was honored to be chosen as the Winter Sports Queen her senior year. Whitney then went on to Graceland University and earned a double major in Criminal Justice and Human Services with a minor in Psychology. Whitney was involved with The Graceland Gadets dance team, and the symphonic band; where she played the alto saxophone. Whitney was recognized as having the most contagious smile on the Graceland Dance Team, and served on the social committee. Her sophomore year at Graceland she was elected onto the Student Government. This April Whitney became a third generation Graceland graduate following the footsteps of her grandfather and mom. She earned the honor of graduating Cum Laude. She was most recently working at The Community Supports Network as a Direct Support Professional.
Whitney was a member of the Followers of Christ Church. Whitney was always looking out for others and being helpful whenever she could be.
Whitney died on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at home at Angel Hollow Farm, at the age of 22 years. seven months, and eight days.
Whitney was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Francis and Bessie (Whitney) Harper and Cecil and Yvonne Edwards and her grandparents, Alva and Viola Ronk. She is survived by her parents, Alan and Terri (Harper) Ronk of Woodbine, Iowa; three brothers, Matthew Ronk and wife Brandi of San Antonio, Texas, Joshua Ronk of Omaha, Nebraska, Justin Ronk and wife Theresa of Pisgah, Iowa; niece, Emily Ronk, nephew, Brian Ronk, grandparents, Francis and Iris Harper of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
