     Willis Lee Davis was born on June 20, 1936, in Pawnee City, Nebraska to parents Melvin and Ollie (Miner) Davis. The family moved to Iowa in 1952. Will graduated from Woodbine High School in 1954. Will worked for area farmers until enlisting in the US Army. He served two years and three months in the Army, after which he lived in Colorado and Texas before returning to the Midwest to be near his family. Will was married to Janis Elvers on November 2, 1963, and to this union two daughters were born, Julie and Janae. He was later married to Sandra Salazar on May 11, 1973, and to this union a son, Bryan, was born. Will went to work for Ridell Farms taking care of hog units in the Oakland, Nebraska area for 18 years. He then moved to Bellevue, Nebraska and went to work for Lowes where he was an assembler of furniture and grills.

     Will loved to do woodworking and raise goats.

     Will died on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Azria Health Rose Vista in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 87 years and nine months.

     Will was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings, Elton Davis, Grace Harris, Lola Hatfield, Betty Veeder, Marvin Davis, Dean Davis, Clarence Davis, Wayne Davis, Keith Davis, Alice Davis and Bernice Hartman. He is survived by his children, Julie Thompson of Blair, Nebraska, Janae Shimek of Elkhorn, Nebraska and Bryan Davis of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren; one brother, Larry Davis of Woodbine; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
