Wyatt Matthew Reed was born on June 18, 2010, in Omaha, Nebraska to Matthew and Heather (Fent) Reed and was the middle son between older brother, Dillon and younger brother, Evan. Wyatt’s life, though brief, was marked by determination and an independent spirit that left an enduring impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him. Wyatt was a student currently attending Woodbine High School in Woodbine, Iowa, where he actively participated in Jr ROTC, demonstrating his commitment to discipline and leadership at a young age. He took great honor in being part of the Color Guard. Wyatt had also started working at a job in Omaha, Nebraska at Big O Bounce. Alongside his academic pursuits, he nurtured a variety of interests and hobbies that brought joy to him.
Wyatt was an avid outdoorsman who found adventure and peace in fishing and hunting. You could find him anywhere the fish were biting. Simply being outdoors allowed Wyatt to connect deeply with nature, reflecting his independent and determined spirit. Swimming was another of his loves, with a particular talent for the butterfly stroke that highlighted his athleticism and discipline. With a bass guitar in hand, Wyatt eagerly absorbed lessons from Miss A, embracing music as another form of expression. If you were lucky enough to have him as a friend, you could always count on his love, loyalty, and support.
Wyatt passed away due to an auto accident on June 11, 2026, just one week before his 16th birthday.
Wyatt is survived by his parents, Matt and Heather Reed, as well as his brothers, Dillon and Evan, all of Woodbine; grandparents, Larry and Darla Fent of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Judy Reed; great-grandma, LoRayne “G.G.” VanWyk.
