Arnold Gilbert Hardy was born on October 3, 1938 in Dunlap, Iowa to Harold and Anna (Park) Hardy.  Arnold grew up in the Dunlap area. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for a short period. Arnold married Patricia Cox on July 14, 1962.  The couple lived in Logan, Woodbine and Dunlap. Arnold worked for Schemmer Rock Quarry and farmed. He also did custom baling and raised cattle.

Arnold was a member of the Woodbine Christian Church and was a deacon there at one time. He purchased a Harley Davidson motor cycle in five-gallon buckets, he put it all together and rode it for a number of years. Arnold loved to camp, eat his sweets, and watch the Road Runner cartoon.

Arnold died on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at the Dunlap Specialty Care at the age of 82 years and 12 days.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda; and two brothers, Darrell and Elton Hardy. He is survived by his son, Craig Hardy of Moorhead, Iowa; two daughters, Norma Shafer of Woodbine, Iowa and Dianna and her husband James Reap of San Tan, Arizona; five grandchildren; four brothers, Wayne Hardy and his wife Connie, Larry Hardy and Denny Hardy and his wife Cheryl all of Woodbine, Iowa and Robbie Hardy and his wife Lorraine of Pocatello, Idaho and many other relatives and friends.
