Bonnie Mae Hinkel was born on May 21, 1934, in Beebeetown, Iowa to Elmer ‘Stub’ and Edith (Iversen) Price. The family moved to Dow City for a short time and then to Mondamin. Bonnie attended school in Mondamin, graduating in the class of 1952. After graduation she went to work at Mutual of Omaha. Bonnie was united in marriage to Herbert Clark in 1953 in California and over the next few years they were blessed with four children. She attended Barnes Beauty School in Council Bluffs. Herb and Bonnie farmed near Pisgah, Iowa and she started a beauty shop that was connected to the house. In the early 1970’s, Bonnie and Bev Coyle started a beauty shop in town where she worked until she sold the shop in 1980. In December of 1987, Bonnie was united in marriage to Earl Hinkel. Bonnie went to work in Omaha, Nebraska, first at Peony Park and then at Aksarben. She also cleaned houses until her retirement in 1998.

Bonnie loved to cook, read books and watch sports on TV. She was famous for her homemade ice cream. She enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends whether at the casino, dancing or hanging wallpaper. Bonnie was a part of the “Golden Girls” and the “Help One Another Club”.

Bonnie died on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha at the age of 88 years, five months and 26 days.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; first husband, Herb; grandsons, Brandon Clark and Cole Hutchinson; infant sister, Donna Price; nephew, Jason Price; and stepson, Randy Hinkel. She is survived by her four children, Craig (Pam) Clark of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Pam (Garry) Hutchinson of Omaha, Jeff (Denise) Clark of Pisgah and Rick Clark (Adam Conley) of Omaha; stepson, Mike (Laurie) Hinkel of Omaha; 16 grandchildren; 16+ great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Linda) Price of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many other relatives and friends.
