Consuelo “Connie” (Gerratt) Roundy was born November 6, 1924, to William H. and Violett M. (Kemmish) Gerratt in Persia, Iowa. She attended rural school from 1930 to 1938 and in 1942 graduated from Logan High School. From 1942 to 1944 she taught rural elementary school. Connie married Floyd Paul Mahan on October 29, 1944. In 1945 she furthered her schooling and became a key-punch operator in Los Angeles, California. On December 19, 1946, her daughter, Paula Diana Mahan, was born. In 1948, the couple purchased a new “H” tractor and in 1952, the family moved to their farm outside of Woodbine. Following Floyd’s death, Connie moved to Council Bluffs. She held many positions over the years. She was a preschool aide from 1977 to 1980, worked part time at the Church of Christ in Council Bluffs as an office girl and worked for Loess Hills AEA. On September 25, 1984, she married Lloyd R. Roundy. Connie retired in 1988 to spend time with her husband and her family. Lloyd died in April 2001.

Food had to be served in serving bowls and she was an avid gardener. She kept busy all her life. She was a 4H leader from 1955 to 1965. From 1963 to 1964. the family hosted an American Field Service student from Sweden. She was a member of the Harrison County Extension Council for two years, Cancer Crusade organizer for three townships for five years, treasurer for the Woodbine Community School for three years, held an office position in the Woodbine PEO for 10 years and taught Bible school classes for 15 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Council Bluffs.
