Deanna Kay (Meier) Huebner was born on August 14, 1947, to Fred and Edna (Dobernecker) Meier. She attended Tri-Center High School and graduated in 1965. She was a basketball star with her signature left-handed shot! After high school, Deanna attended and graduated from the Stuart School of Hairstyling in July of 1966. She then became an instructor at the Stuart School for Hairstyling for a short time before deciding to open her own business in Persia, Iowa. It was on January 21, 1967 when Deanna married Marvin Huebner at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Portsmouth, Iowa. To this union, three children were born: Darcey, Scott and Robbie.

Deanna had such a zest for life and taught her family everlasting values. This same enthusiasm was portrayed in her business. She had a love for her shop clients, most of whom were with her from the start of her business. She would help at any time, scheduling the earliest appointment at 5:00 am and the latest leaving at 12:45 am. Just like on the basketball court in high school, it was hard to keep up with her!

Deanna had a love for bling and always looked spectacular in her favorite color turquoise. She had a love for game shows on TV, amusement parks, playing cards, and board games with her family. She didn’t appreciate it if she was on the losing team. She was the loudest and biggest supporter in her children and grandchildren’s school activities. She had the best sense of humor, a beautiful and welcoming smile, and her laughter was contagious! Deanna had a love for animals and the animals loved her. She raised poodles and shelties but also had a passion for horses. She loved to spend time on a mower and said it was her most relaxing time to reflect on the life she loved.

During Marv’s illness, Deanna’s cancer returned. Throughout her battles, she always stayed positive.  She was the rock of the family, showing great strength while caring for Marvin and compassion for her children. There was always a smile on her face. Deanna had a huge heart; helping anyone and everyone.  Her willingness to give never went unnoticed. Her never-ending love and care will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

Deanna died on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, five months and three days.

Deanna was preceded death by her husband Marvin; her parents Fred and Edna Meier; and siblings, Rogena Schmidt, Lotus Martin, LaVonne Springman, Fred Meier, Robert Meier,  Ron Meier and Richard Meier. She is survived by her children Darcey Mumm and husband Kelly of Neola, Iowa, Scott Huebner and wife Gina of Minden, Iowa, and Robbie Huebner and wife Traci of Persia, Iowa; six grandchildren, Michelle and Marcus Mumm, Brandon and Brady Huebner and Trenton and Ainsley Huebner; and many other family and friends.

The family would like to thank everyone who supported Deanna and the family throughout her long battle and continue to do so now. We are deeply touched by your kindness and generosity. God Bless
