Deloid McHugh

Deloid John McHugh was born on November 26, 1959, in Pisgah, Iowa to parents Royal John and Flora Alice (Barnum) McHugh. He grew up in the Woodbine and Arion areas. Deloid graduated from Denison High School in 1977.  Deloid worked at Ye Auld Flower Shoppe and Greenhouse in Denison in his earlier years. He lived in Arion and then moved to Denison. He had many friends in the area who would pick him up to ride along to sales or just to run errands with them.

Deloid was an honorary member of the Nomad Motorcycle Club. He loved going fishing, to garage sales and Saturday morning auction at the Denison Sale Barn. He was especially happy when he got his electric scooter which allowed him to continue getting out and about picking up pop cans and visiting. As a pastime Deloid liked to fix up lawnmowers and bicycles and then give them away to anyone who could use it. He liked helping the older folks around town with mowing or snow removal and he thoroughly enjoyed visiting with his friends and family.

Deloid died on November 10, 2021 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 14 days.

Deloid was preceded in death by his father Royal John McHugh; his mother Flora Alice Staub; his brother, Royal Jay McHugh and great niece Isabel Gialdini. He is survived by his three sisters, Sandra McHugh of Omaha, Nebraska, Marilyn Hintz and her husband Scott of Carlisle, Iowa and Karen Riedell and her husband Paul of Breda, Iowa; two brothers, Lyle McHugh, and Michael McHugh both of Tarkio, Missouri and many other relatives and friends.
