Jacob Charles Klein was born on June 15, 2001, to Mark and Catherine Andersen (Klein) in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in Dunlap and graduated from Boyer Valley High School in 2019. After high school, he attended Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, Iowa, where he studied Tool and Die. During his previous summers, he worked at Sullivan’s Supply, Klein Fence, and as a lifeguard.

Jacob loved being outside and working with his hands, and he was always on the go. He enjoyed shooting guns and target practice. He played football and ran track. He loved adventuring on motorcycles. One of his favorite places was his grandpa’s farm where he would swim in the pond. Little ones loved Jake; they were drawn to him and he always found time to play with them and make them laugh. He was the life of the party and cherished his friends and family.

Jacob died on April 13, 2020, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 18 years, nine months and 29 days.

Jacob was preceded in death by his uncle, Tim Klein and cousin, Nathan Klein. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Catherine Klein of Dunlap, Iowa; sister, Katie Klein of Dunlap; paternal grandparents, Charles and Marie (Gross) Klein of Earling, Iowa; maternal grandparents, Ben and Linda (Haight) Andersen of Dunlap; paternal aunts and uncles, Judy and Russ Heese, Steve and Betty Klein, LuAnn and Ron Kramer all of Earling, Vickie and Kyle Miller of Kiron, Iowa, and Jeff and Cindy Klein of Earling; maternal uncles, Jim and Lois Andersen of Woodbine, Travis and Maureen Andersen of Kearney, Missouri, and Shane and Jill Andersen of Woodbine; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.
