Marceta Mae Weber was born on July 9, 1941, to Francis and Florine (Epperson) Whitmore in Logan, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in Logan. On December 27, 1959, Marceta was united in marriage to Duane Weber at the Logan Christian Church. The couple was blessed with a son, Scott. Marceta and Duane were hard working farmers. They raised award winning hogs and also cattle. They were both members of the local Kiwanis club. Marceta also spent several years proudly teaching Sunday School and leading Cub Scouts.
Marceta took pride in her large garden and beautiful flowers that she cared for each year. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo with family and playing cards, especially Pitch or 21. Marceta was great at both cooking and baking. Together, Marceta and Duane enjoyed camping, especially at the Clay County Fair. They also hosted a large 4th of July get together each year. Marceta loved to visit with people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Most of all, Marceta loved her family and she was the best mom and grandma.
Marceta passed on February 3, 2021, at her home outside of Logan, surrounded by her family, at the age of 79 years, six months and 25 days.
Marceta was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Duane; son, Scott Weber; and brothers, Harvey, Howard, Merlyn and Bill. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Julie Weber of Logan; granddaughters, Sarah (Justin) Miller, Katie (Bobby) Morton, Hannah (Brock) Skow and Molly Weber; great-grandchildren, Sydney Morton, Macie Miller and Noah Morton; foster great-granddaughter, Sherry Kozlowski; brother, Alan (Judy) Whitmore of Muscatine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
