Mark Bissen

Mark Allen Bissen was born on January 19, 1962, in Omaha, Nebraska to Grace Klein and then moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. Grace died on January 5, 1970. Mark and his brother Patrick were adopted by their aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Alma Bissen. Mark returned to Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1980.  After high school, Mark attended Dana College for a year. Mark worked in the oil fields in Texas for three years and for the telephone company in New Jersey. He worked in various other locations before returning to Dunlap.

Mark was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dunlap. He was very active in church, by serving on the parish council and the Knights of Columbus. He was a 4th Degree Knight and served as the Grand Knight. Mark  also served on the Dunlap City Council. He liked to hunt and follow sports, especially high school sports.

Mark died on March 23, 2021, at his home in Dunlap, at the age of 59 years, two months and four days.

Mark was preceded in death by his birth   mother, Grace Faulkner. He is survived by his parents, Kenny and Alma Bissen of Cedar Grove, Tennessee; three brothers, Patrick Bissen and his wife Jane of Camdenton, Missouri; Troy Bissen and his wife Tammy of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Scott Bissen and his wife Tonya of Cedar Grove, Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends.
