Penny Kay Anderson was born on January 10, 1962, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She attended school in Council Bluffs, graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1980. After graduation, Penny worked for the Jimmy Carter Presidential Campaign. Penny then started her life long career in the insurance industry, first with Western Insurance and then for almost 40 years at Mutual of Omaha, where she worked up to the position of Senior Analyst. Penny married Jeffery Anderson on May 29, 1982 at the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church in Council Bluffs and to this union two daughters were born, Ashley and Molley.

Penny and Jeff were active members of the Logan Christian Church in Logan, Iowa. She was very involved in the annual church Vacation Bible School and her Sunday morning Sunday School Group. Penny enjoyed scrapbooking and was a movie fanatic. More than anything, Penny cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her kids and grandkids.

Penny passed away at her home in Logan, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the age of 59 years, one month and one day.

Penny was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Ruth Osborn. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jeff Anderson of Logan; children, Ashley Anderson (Jon Sealock) of Council Bluffs, Molley (Kyle) Anson of Council Bluffs and Dalayni Cates of Magnolia, Iowa; grandchildren, Ayden, Quinn and Ivy Anson and Avery Sealock; mother, Ruthalee Osborn of Council Bluffs; siblings, Teri Hoffman of Logan, Bryce (Kara) Behrens of Council Bluffs and Larry Gardner of Missouri Valley; parents-in-law, Roger and Terrie Anderson of Kimballton, Iowa; brother-in-law, Lance Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska; numerous nieces and nephews; many members of her work and church family; and many other relatives and friends.
