Ronald Dean Dolan was born on October 21, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska to Benjamin Edward and Blanche Elizabeth (Morrisch) Dolan. Ron grew up in Omaha and graduated from Omaha Tech in 1959. He then joined the U.S. Navy and served four years. In 1962, Ron married Sharon Calfee. In his first marriage, two daughters were born, Ronda Michelle and Kristi Lynn. Ron worked at Dun and Bradstreet and Searle Pharmaceuticals. They lived in California and in 1967, they moved back to Omaha. After his first marriage ended, in June of 1978, Ron married Patricia Golden at the Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Pat's son Joseph Scott was adopted by Ron and they added three more children to their family, Benjamin Jeffrey, Sarah Ann, and Matthew Erik. The family continued to live in Omaha until 1984, when they moved to Woodbine, Iowa. Ron operated his own computer sales and service business and then he held many other sales and technology positions. He most recently was working for Troy Chemical Company.

Ron was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a very active High Priest in church and previously served as a Branch President. He had been a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He was instrumental in starting AYSO Soccer in Woodbine. Ron had his pilot's license and owned his own plane. He was a very good artist, enjoyed woodworking, golfing, landscaping, fishing and duck hunting.  He passed his love of fishing on to his grandchildren.

Ron died on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at his home at the age of 80 years and seven days.

Ron is survived by his wife Patricia Dolan of Woodbine, Iowa; five children, Ronda Dolan and her significant other Doug Stille of Omaha, Nebraska, Kriss and her husband Rob Wendling, Joe Dolan of Sandy, Utah, Ben Dolan of Omaha, Nebraska and Sarah and her husband Scott Warmbier of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jessica Riggle, Aedan and Rachel Wendling, Layla, Lincoln, and Nora Warmbier; two great grandchildren, Ruby and Wiley Riggle; sister, Maxine Zerbe of Omaha, Nebraska; brother, John Dolan of Little Rock, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew Dolan; seven siblings, Annie Webb, Paul Dolan, Harold Dolan, Tom Dolan, Richard Dolan, Marv Dolan and Lee Dolan.

Ron's visitation will be on Thursday, November 4th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 5th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Logan, Iowa, 2629 260th St, Logan, IA 51546.
