Veronica Louise Dayhuff was born on October 10, 1945, in Logan, Iowa to George “Nick” and Georgia (Hines) Brady. She grew up in Logan and graduated from the Logan High School in 1963. Veronica attended business school and then went to work for Keys, which later became Perfection, in Logan. On May 28, 1965, Veronica was united in marriage to Robert Wayne Dayhuff and to this union three children were born, Karie, Kellie and Kevin. Veronica and Wayne traveled while he was in the military and then made their home in Logan where they ran Dayhuff Chevrolet. She then served as Harrison County Treasurer for many years. After Veronica and Wayne divorced, she moved to Omaha where she worked for Columban Fathers until her retirement.
Veronica was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Omaha. She loved to shop and also enjoyed staying active. Veronica was a very social person which provided her with many friends, some being very close lifelong friends.
Veronica died on July 6, 2021, at her daughter Karie’s home in Logan, Iowa at the age of 75 years, eight months and 27 days.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Pat Rowland and Rebecca ‘Sue’ Hansen; and her ex-husband, Wayne Dayhuff. She is survived by her children, Karie Waters of Logan, Kellie and her husband Jason Douthit of Kansas City, Missouri and Kevin Dayhuff of Logan; grandchildren, Linden Barnett, Morgan Waters, Lauren Barnett, McKenna Dayhuff, Drew Dayhuff, Rowdy Waters, Luke Barnett, Isabella Douthit and Jacob Douthit; and many other relatives and friends.
